Court-approved provisional property seizures requested by ONE HUNDRED Label, led by CEO Cha Ga Won, against real estate owned by THE BOYZ members Younghoon (Kim Younghoon) and Q (Ji Changmin) have been confirmed. The two idols are currently involved in a legal dispute with the agency over the validity of their exclusive contracts.
According to Ilyo Shinmun, the Civil Division 51 of the Seoul Eastern District Court approved ONE HUNDRED Label’s request on June 16 to provisionally seize property owned by Younghoon. The order concerns an apartment in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, with the agency claiming 513,620,061 won. The provisional seizure is intended to preserve the company’s alleged monetary claim while the case is pending. As long as the order remains in effect, the property may face restrictions on sale or use as collateral.
ONE HUNDRED Label filed the application against Younghoon on May 28. After the court ordered the company to provide security on June 15, the agency submitted a surety insurance bond worth approximately 51.4 million won the following day. Upon confirming the security, the court approved the provisional seizure on June 16. Such insurance bonds are designed to compensate the opposing party if the seizure is later ruled to have been unjustified.
The agency argues that the dispute is tied to the exclusive contract signing bonus paid to THE BOYZ members. According to ONE HUNDRED Label, the payment was effectively an advance made on the assumption that the artists would fulfill the entire contract period. If they cease activities before the contract expires, the company maintains that the remaining portion should be returned as unjust enrichment.
Attorney Hyun Dong Yeop of law firm Hwageum, representing ONE HUNDRED Label, told Ilyo Shinmun, “Younghoon’s exclusive contract ran from December 8, 2024, to December 7, 2027, and his signing bonus totaled 1.5 billion won.”
He continued, “After the court granted the injunction suspending the exclusive contract on April 23, 2026, the remaining portion of the contract period translated into 813,698,630 won in refundable advance payments. After offsetting 300,788,569 won in unpaid settlement earnings for the third and fourth quarters of 2025, the final claim amount was calculated at 513,620,061 won.”
The court has also approved a similar provisional seizure request against property owned by member Q. Attorney Hyun stated, “Not only Younghoon, but the court also approved the provisional seizure against Q on July 23.”
He added, “This decision marks the starting point of our main lawsuit seeking approximately 8.8 billion won against THE BOYZ members. We intend to prevail in the main case and restore the company’s normal operations.”
Younghoon’s legal team has already begun challenging the court’s decision. Law firm Yulchon, representing the singer, filed an objection to the provisional seizure with the Seoul Eastern District Court on July 13.
Attorney Kim Moon Hee of Yulchon argued, “The exclusive contract clearly separates the signing bonus from settlement payments. There is no clause stating that the signing bonus constitutes an advance on future settlements, that it should be deducted from settlement earnings, or that the remaining amount must be repaid if the contract ends early.”
She further explained, “A provisional seizure is merely a temporary preservation measure based on written submissions and supporting materials. It is not a final judgment on the merits of the case and does not establish the legal nature of the signing bonus or recognize any right to reimbursement.”
Regarding the seizure of Younghoon’s property, she added, “We have already filed an objection and are seeking to have the order revoked.”
An objection to a provisional seizure allows the debtor to ask the court to reconsider the order. Once the objection is filed, the court will schedule either a hearing or oral arguments, giving both parties an opportunity to present their positions before deciding whether the seizure should remain in effect.
Previously, nine members of THE BOYZ Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Sunwoo, and Eric excluding New, filed an injunction in February seeking to suspend the validity of their exclusive contracts with ONE HUNDRED Label. The members alleged that the agency had failed to pay settlement earnings since July 2025 and refused their requests to inspect accounting records. On April 23, the court granted the injunction in favor of the nine members.
