Actress Oh Yu-jin has been cast as the female lead in the drama “New Love Playlist” (written by Choi Yo-ji, directed by Kang Min-kyung, produced by Playlist).
On Oct 26th, Oh Yu-jin’s agency WNY announced, “Oh Yu-jin was cast as Do Min-ju, the heroine of ‘New Love Playlist’, through an open audition.” Oh Yu-jin is known to have been cast after coming through a competition of 1300 to 1.
“New Love Playlist” is the next work of “Love Playlist”, which pioneered the genre of domestic web dramas by writing the myth of 400 million views. It has been steadily attracting attention from drama fans from the casting stage.
“New Love Playlist” is a campus youth romance drama that deals with ordinary yet candid love feelings and stories of college students called “COVID-19 Class” at Seoyeon University. Oh Yu-jin plays the role of Do Min-ju, who is easy-going and high-tension in front of close friends, but is shy when drinking alcohol. Oh Yu-jin will show her own solid character building power and unique delicate emotional acting.
Oh Yu-jin said through her agency, “I hope everyone who experienced college life in the COVID-19 crisis will sympathize with this work and feel comforted and excited together. The director, writer, actors and staff worked really hard. Oh Yu-jin appeared in tvN’s “True Beauty”, OCN’s “Dark Hole” and Wavve’s original series “Seasons of Blossom”. Attention is focused on what kind of performance she will show in “New Love Playlist”.
Meanwhile, “New Love Playlist” will be released on Nov 16th through Playlist.
