NMIXX’s Heartwarming Encounter with a Foster Child Dreaming of Being an Idol

JYP Entertainment and NMIXX support the shining dreams of a foster child

JYP has been carrying out its representative CSR activity, “EDM (Every Dream Matters).” In particular, in June 2019, they signed an MOU with Make-A-Wish Korea and have been involved in a project to emotionally support children with rare diseases in achieving their wishes. Recently, a domestic foster child expressed a wish to JYP through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and NMIXX responded, creating a special memory.

A 10-year-old girl named Jo Ye-bin, who has been receiving ongoing treatment after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, developed the dream of becoming a K-pop idol after watching NMIXX’s debut song “O.O” performance.

Her wish to meet NMIXX, which had been a source of strength during her illness, was conveyed to JYP through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and this miraculous meeting with NMIXX became a reality.

NMIXX, who enjoys dancing, spent a meaningful time with Jo Ye-bin, shooting challenge videos for “Roller Coaster” and “Young, Dumb, Stupid,” and personally teaching her the choreography for “Party O’Clock.” They recorded an album with personal signatures and an exclusive alarm bell for Jo Ye-bin.

Jo Ye-bin expressed her gratitude, “It was a joyful and exciting day. The words of encouragement from NMIXX, telling me to have confidence and work hard in whatever I do, deeply touched my heart.”

Jo Ye-bin’s parents also shared their thoughts, “Since our child developed the dream of being an ‘idol’ and watched NMIXX’s stage, it gave her positive energy. Thanks to that, she gained strength and it greatly helped her recover her health. We are grateful to JYP and Make-A-Wish for creating meaningful moments for our child.”

NMIXX conveyed their sincerity, “Despite the difficult times, we were even happier and more delighted to see Jo Ye-bin dancing and pursuing her dreams. It was an honor for us to fulfill Jo Ye-bin’s precious wish, and we believe this moment will be a lifelong memory. We want to emphasize once again that NMIXX will always support Jo Ye-bin.”

JYP, starting with Park Jinyoung personally meeting a child with leukemia to provide dance and singing lessons, actively participates in fulfilling the wishes of children with rare diseases, along with their artists. JYP artists put in effort to meet children and make their dreams come true, and in the first half of 2023, Stray Kids met with five overseas foster children in a remote session, sharing hope and courage.
