NewJeans wins “Best New Artist (K-Pop)” at “iHeartRadio Music Awards”

NewJeans proved their global power by adding a prestigious American music awards ceremony trophy

On April 1st (local time), NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) won the “Best New Artist (K-Pop)” category at the “iHeartRadio Music Awards 2024” held in Los Angeles, USA. The “iHeartRadio Music Awards” is an annual music awards ceremony hosted by the American online radio broadcaster iHeartRadio since 2014, awarding artists and songs most played on iHeartRadio broadcasts and applications throughout the year.

Through a video, NewJeans expressed their feelings, “Thanks to the support of Bunnies (fandom), we gain the strength to work hard every day. We sincerely thank everyone who helped us.”

NewJeans previously won the “Top Global K-pop Artist” at the “Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs)” in November last year and became the first K-pop artist to win the “Group of the Year” at the “Billboard Women in Music Awards” last month, confirming their strong global popularity and status.

The consecutive wins at American music awards ceremonies testify to NewJeans’ global activities. They topped Billboard’s main album chart “Billboard 200” in the shortest time after debut (1 year) among K-pop artists and entered Billboard’s main song chart “Hot 100” with five songs (“OMG”, “Ditto”, “Super Shy”, “ETA”, “Cool With You”). They also showcased explosive audience drawing power on overseas music festival stages such as “Lollapalooza Chicago” in the USA and “Summer Sonic” in Japan.

Meanwhile, NewJeans plans to release double singles in Korea and Japan on May 24th and June 21st, respectively, and engage in active activities between the two countries. The fan meeting “Bunnies Camp 2024 Tokyo Dome” on June 26th~27th in Japan will feature 24 songs, including 4 new songs.
