NewJeans to make summer comeback, pre-release single in June, new album in July

Girl group NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein) will return with a new album in summer, aiming for three consecutive hits.

According to an exclusive report by Star News on April 4th, NewJeans is confirmed to release a pre-release track at the end of June and officially begin their comeback activities. Following this, NewJeans will release a new album in early July, which includes the pre-release track.

This is similar to the girl group’s promotions for their first single “OMG”. In particular, NewJeans dropped the pre-release track “Ditto” on December 19th last year, and then revealed their first single album “OMG” on January 2nd.

Such a promotional tactic has so far been proven as effective, with “OMG” and “Ditto” staying on the US Billboard “Hot 100” chart for 6 weeks and 5 weeks, respectively. At the same time, “Ditto” topped the Melon chart for 14 consecutive weeks, setting a new record since the reformation of the Melon chart and attracting attention.

Debuting with their first mini-album “New Jeans” featuring 4 tracks “Hype Boy”, “Attention”, “Cookie” and “Hurt”, NewJeans has since swept through domestic and international music charts with all songs, including their first single “OMG” and “Ditto”. With such achievements, NewJeans has solidified their position as a global rising star, raising high expectations for the pre-release track in June and the upcoming album in July.
