Girl group NewJeans made a legendary stage with Jamboree members’ group singing.
On August 11th, the K-pop Super Live Concert was held along with the closing ceremony of the 2023 World Scout Jamboree.
About 40,000 scouts from 150 countries gathered at the Seoul World Cup Stadium to watch K-pop stars’ performances.
NewJeans also stood on this stage. The girl group received tremendous cheers when they appeared at the end of the first part.
At the concert, NewJeans sang “Hype Boy” and the recently released song “ETA”, making the crowd go wild.
In particular, “Hype Boy” drew tremendous cheers as it was so popular that a meme called “It’s NewJeans’ Hype Boy” was created. (In Korea, so many people would answer “It’s NewJeans’ Hype Boy” when asked “What are you listening to?“)
NewJeans’ participation was so successful that it was evaluated that NewJeans was an undeniable “success key” of this K-pop concert.
Meanwhile, the event was held at the Sangam World Cup Stadium in Mapo-gu, Seoul from 5:30 PM to 9 PM.
Prime Minister Han Duck Soo, Minister of Gender Equality and Family Kim Hyun Sook, Minister of Public Administration and Security Lee Sang Min, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Park Bo Gyun and more attended.
A total of 19 teams, including NewJeans, NCT Dream, ITZY, Mamamoo, The Boyz, Shownu X Hyungwon, fromis_9, ZEROBASEONE, Kang Daniel, Kwon Eunbi, Jo Yuri, P1Harmony, KARD, THE NEW SIX, ATBO, Xikers, HolyBang, Libelante and IVE, performed on the stage.
