The group is dropping a pre-released track at the end of the year that showcases a “NewJeans’ winter”.
On the 10th, NewJeans’s agency ADOR announced on its exclusive fan communication app “Phoning” and SNS that NewJeans is releasing their new single album “OMG” on January 2 next year.
“OMG” consists of the title song conceived together during the production of the debut album “New Jeans” and the winter pre-released track specially prepared by NewJeans for the first winter with Bunnies (NewJeans’ official fandom name).
NewJeans is dropping their pre-released single on the 19th of next month ahead of the album’s release to present Bunnies with a warmer ending to their year.
“If the debut album showcased NewJeans’ summer, this single album will be one that showcases NewJeans’ winter”, said Min Hee-jin, CEO and executive producer of the group in teasing out a brand new side of NewJeans.
NewJeans emerged as a new artist drawing attention from all over the world, including their home country Korea, with their debut album “New Jeans” released in August. They became the first girl group to rank first and second in the TOP 100 with their debut songs, “Attention” and “Hype Boy”, on MelOn, and achieved various records, including charting on Spotify’s “Weekly Top Song America” for the first time with a K-pop group’s debut song (“Attention”).
In addition, NewJeans achieved 100 million streams on Spotify within 98 days after the release of “Hype Boy,” charted on the U.S. Billboard chart for 14 consecutive weeks, and built a strong enough influence to win the rookie award “Next Leader” at the 2022 “The Fact Music Awards”.
