NewJeans Hyein “Taking a Break from Activities, Honestly, It Was Comfortable and Fun + The Other Members Must Have Had a Hard Time”
NewJeans Hyein candidly shared her feelings about the time she had to pause her activities
On August 2nd, a video titled “NewJeans’ 15ya Preparation is Ready” was posted on the YouTube channel “Channel 15ya”.
Meeting NewJeans, PD Na Young-seok said, “What I was most worried about was the news of the youngest member’s injury, which surprised me a lot.” Hyein had suffered a foot injury that kept her off the stage for a month. Hyein expressed her gratitude by saying, “Thank you for your concern.”
Hyein said that it’s been about a month since she returned. PD Na Young-seok said, “I saw the four of you performing on stage for a while.“
PD Na Young-seok then joked, “Did you ever think, ‘I guess she doesn’t need to come back anymore’?” Minji clarified, “She really wanted to return, but the other members persuaded her to wait until she was fully recovered.“
Hyein shared that during her recovery, she would go back and forth between the dorm and her home. When asked if she saw the older members going to work, the members revealed, “She just slept” and “We never saw her wake up.”
PD Na Young-seok asked, “Honestly, how did it feel seeing your members working on TV without you? Was it ‘I’m so disappointed’, ‘It must have been hard’ or ‘It’s nice to relax here’?“
Hyein humorously admitted, “To be honest, it was half and half. At first, I felt a bit melancholic, thinking ‘I’m resting here alone while my sisters are on stage’, but honestly, it was really comfortable and fun.”
Hyein also shared that she frequently messaged in NewJeans’ group chat, saying, “You guys look so pretty. You were legends today.“
She added, “We originally practiced the choreography in a five-member formation, but they had to rearrange it because of me, so they must have worked hard.”
