Girl group NewJeans entered the Billboard chart 8 days after the release of their debut song.
According to Billboard’s latest chart (week of August 13th) released on August 9th (local time), the first title track “Attention” of NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, Hyein)’s debut album ranked 174th on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart.
Billboard Global Excl. U.S. ranks the top songs based on streaming and/or sales activity from more than 200 territories around the world. NewJeans proved their worldwide popularity by making their name on the Billboard chart 8 days after releasing their debut album “New Jeans” on August 1st.
NewJeans also set a new record in terms of album. NewJeans’ debut album “New Jeans” sold 262,815 in just one day on August 8th, the highest first day sales among debut albums released since September 2019.
