NewJeans Confirmed To Have Official Permission To Shoot MV In Taiwan After Being Criticized By Taiwanese Netizens

NewJeans was caught up in malicious controversy while filming a music video in Taiwan.

On March 1st, ADOR made an official statement denying its staff’s overuse of power and nuisance filming rumors.

“We received official permission from the city hall and the police in Taiwan to shoot within the scope of permission,” ADOR said. “At that time, the on-site staff held signs asking citizens not to take pictures, but there were people taking pictures in the shooting-control area. In this case, we politely asked them to delete the photos, and they all responded cooperatively.” It also added, “At that time, there were no cases of staff shouting or disrespecting citizens at the filming site.”

On March 1st (local time), media outlet ‘ETtoday’ released photos of NewJeans’ music video filming site and reported that the group not only conducted filming on a Taiwanese road without permission, but also inspected citizens’ mobile phones. This was based on a post on Taiwan’s anonymous community site PTT. Unfortunately, the post was not true, and NewJeans was unfairly criticized by Taiwanese netizens.

Meanwhile, NewJeans is set to release its album “How Sweet” on May 24.
