Son Seok-gu to star in “Casino”, “The Outlaws” director’s new series to be released in the second half of this year

Rising actor Son Seok-gu recently confirmed his appearance in Disney+’s new original series “Casino”.

OTT platform Disney+ announced on June 13th, “New original series ‘Casino’ has gathered the strongest cast lineup, heralding an ensemble with amazing acting”, adding, “Actors Choi Min-sik, Son Seok-gu, Lee Dong-hwi, and Heo Sung-tae will appear in this new series.”

“Casino” tells the intense story that happens when a man, who became the king of casinos after many twists and turns, returns to the game for survival and the risk of his life after losing everything in a series of incidents.

Choi Min-sik, a representative Korean actor who has received huge love from the audiences of all generations for his performances in the movies “Oldboy”, “I Saw the Devil”, “New World” and “The Admiral: Roaring Currents”, decided to challenge a work on the small screen for the first time in 26 years.

Above all, Son Seok-gu, who has recently been reborn as a hot actor with the success of the drama “My Liberation Notes”, heralds another acting transformation by confirming his appearance in “Casino”. Son Seok-gu is a versatile actor who has proved his wide acting spectrum through “Be Melodramatic”, Netflix’s series “D.P”, movies “Nothing Serious”, “The Roundup”, and challenged directing the short film “Unframed”.

Actor Lee Dong-hwi, who showed off his unrivaled presence through movies “Extreme Job”, “My First Client” and the drama “Pegasus Market”, will also join the cast of “Casino.

In addition, Heo Sung-tae, who recently left a great impression on the public with his performance in “Beyond Evil” and Netflix’s hit series “Squid Game”, confirmed his appearance, raising fans’ expectations for the best ensemble to be created with unique actors.

Director Kang Yoon-sung will be in charge of directing “Casino”. Kang Yoon-sung won Best New Director at the 54th Baeksang Arts Awards and the 23rd Chunsa Film Art Awards for “The Outlaws”, the movie with explosive action scenes and speedy developments that recorded 6.88 million admissions. Therefore, attention is focused on what kind of intense and powerful work he will produce this time.

“Casino” will be released in the second half of 2022 only on Disney+.
