The complete cast replacement and storyline change has led to a K-drama plummeting heavily in popularity.
“Soundtrack #1” was one of the first K-dramas on Disney+ to gain international attention. Despite a relatively light script and story, it garnered interest due to the presence and chemistry of two renowned names, actress Han So-hee and actor Park Hyung-sik.
Recently, the sequel to “Soundtrack #1”, which is titled “Soundtrack #2”, was released. However, the drama has failed to capture audiences’ interest as it covers an entirely different story from the first part, with a 100% change in the cast. The only thing remaining is the original title.
In fact, ever since the announcement of the cast change for the second part of the project, “Soundtrack #2” has faced considerable mixed opinions. Viewers vehemently opposed the drastic alteration of both the cast and the plot, even urging producers not to use the “Soundtrack” title for promotional purposes if they decide to overhaul everything.
As of now, “Soundtrack #2” has released its first two episodes, which has been completely overshadowed by various other K-drama released during the same period.
It is known that in “Soundtrack #1”, the leading actress has been changed from Han So-hee to Geum Sae-rok, and the leading actor from Park Hyung-sik to Steve Noh. Though the new actors have tried their best with a decent acting performance, they weren’t able to live up to the old ones, and the new storyline is not intriguing enough, resulting in a lack of audience interest
Currently, audiences seem indifferent and doesn’t even bother to criticize “Soundtrack #2”, which is the worst reaction a work can receive.
Meanwhile, “Soundtrack #2” revolves around Ji Soo-ho (Steve Noh) and Do Hyun-seo (Geum Sae-rok), who were once lovers, broke up, and are now forced to meet again. As their past relationship resurfaces, a talented male musician named Kei enters the story and marks the beginning of a love triangle.
