Based on its casting process up until now, the webtoon-based drama “Vigilante” is likely to hit the highest rating ever.
“Vigilante” is a work based on a webtoon of the same name drawn by Kim Kyu-sam on Naver Webtoon. It tells the story of Kim Ji-yong, who lost his mother because of a gangster in his neighborhood, hunting criminals, as well as Choi Mi-ryeo, a reporter who finds out about Ji-yong’s secret, and Jo Heon, an investigator who traces the existence of ‘Vigilante’.
“Vigilante” refers to private groups organized to protect their own rights. This term is derived from the spelling of words, such as “watchdog” or “gatekeeper”, in Spanish, which means “monitoring” and “guarding”.
The drama “Vigilante” is currently proceeding with their casting in earnest and discussing the broadcasting with global OTT platforms. First of all, Nam Joo-hyuk has been cast as Kim Ji-yong, a police university student who has the second identity as a dark hero named “Vigilante”. The news of Lee Joon-hyuk being cast in “Vigilante” was also reported. Lee Joon-hyuk is expected to play Jo Kang-ok, vice chairman of DK Group and the designer for “Vigilante”. However, the actor’s agency also revealed a short position, saying “He is positively considering the script.”
Soon after, actor Yoo Ji-tae was also cast for the lineup. It is rumored that Yoo Ji-tae will play Jo Heon, head of the investigation team at the Metropolitan Investigation Unit.
