Netizens worry about fake news that recently caused damage to celebs, from Yoo Jae Suk to Go Hyun Jung, Song Hye Kyo

Many celebrities, such as Song Hye Kyo, Go Hyun Jung, etc. and even Yoo Jae Suk are suffering from false rumors.

Broadcaster Yoo Jae Suk recently became a victim of fake news. It is recently rumored that Yoo Jae Suk’s family moved their house from Apgujeong-dong to a luxury apartment in Daechi-dong, known as the No.1 area for private education, in order to send their son Ji Ho to a prestigious middle school.

As a result, Yoo Jae Suk had to explain the rumor himself. In a recent broadcast of MBC’s “Hangout with Yoo”, he angrily said, “There’s a rumor on the Internet that I’ve moved my house”, adding, “That’s not true. Who spread that rumor?”. He emphasized, “I’m telling everyone this once again. I don’t move anywhere”.

This is the first time Yoo Jae Suk had to clarify a rumor about him on an entertainment program.

Apart from Yoo Jae Suk, many stars are also suffering fake speculations spread from Youtube and Chinese online communities.

Various rumors and fake news, such as Song Hye Kyo and Cha Eun Woo’s romantic relationship, Kim Gu Ra’s divorce, Rain and Jo Jung Suk’s affairs, BTS RM’s marriage rumor, Koo Jun Yup and Barbie Hsu’s divorce, Go Hyun Jung’s marriage, etc. have recently caused a stir among netizens. In addition, top stars, such as NewJeans, BLACKPINK, aespa, IU, Lee Jong Suk, Son Ye Jin, Hyun Bin, etc. were also victims of false rumors.

In fact, there is no particular way to restrict the spread of rumors. Youtube is not recognized as an official media outlet, the Korea Communications Standards Commission cannot directly apply regulations to it. It is necessary for the government to establish measures to prevent fake news from causing more victims.
