Netizens started a heated debate on whether BTS Jimin is publicly “copying” BLACKPINK Lisa’s concept

A photo uploaded by BTS Jimin has caused a stir on all SNS sites.

On the evening of December 14th, netizens exploded because of a photo posted by BTS Jimin himself on Weverse.

Netizens started a heated debate on whether BTS Jimin is publicly “copying” BLACKPINK Lisa’s concept

Before revealing the photo, Jimin even gave fans a hint that he had just found some interesting pictures. Therefore, fans were excited waiting for a cute selfie or a funny photo of other BTS members as usual. However, it turned out that Jimin posted a selfie photo of him with long hair. Fans were all shocked as they thought his account was hacked.

In fact, Jimin just wanted to show fans the hair extensions he used during his schedules in the U.S. Since the hair extensions were so long before getting cut short, Jimin looked so girly in that long hairstyle. Despite that, netizens still praised Jimin’s lovely side and his confidence in showing this appearance to fans without hesitation.

Apart from compliments, some people took advantage of this chance to pour out criticism towards Jimin. Some claimed that Jimin might be hinting at a “coming out”. Others misunderstood that Jimin publicized his girlfriend.

On Twitter, BLACKPINK’s fandom have also gotten involved into the controversy. Many people pointed out that Jimin was copying Lisa’s image during her solo debut with ‘LALISA’. From the hair style, the beanie hat to the sweater color, many netizens said that Jimin looks exactly like a copy version of Lisa.

The above comments have created a “mess” between the two biggest Kpop fandoms, BLINK and ARMY. While BLINKs constantly criticized Jimin for ‘cosplaying’ Lisa while ARMYs explained that a top idol like Jimin wouldn’t intentionally copy someone unrelated.  Some ARMYs even said that Jimin fit this hairstyle more than Lisa.

The world has never been kind to the relationship between BTS and BLACKPINK. Jennie was recently “bombarded” by V’s fans because the BTS member accidentally followed her on Instagram. How unlucky is Lisa! She is now the center of criticism because Jimin posted a selfie just for fun.

Obviously Weverse is a platform for idols to connect with fans, and Jimin just uses it to be closer to his fans. Netizens and the fandom of the two groups have made such a big fuss just because of a selfie.
