Netizens re-examine Jung Joon Young’s behavior in the past, “He’s a pro. He couldn’t hide his habit”

A video of Jung Joon Young on an entertainment show in the past is brought up for re-examination.

Jung Joon Young is currently imprisoned for his involvement in the so-called ‘Burning Sun Scandal’ together with Big Bang member Seungri (Lee Seung Hyun).

On February 16th, an article titled “Jung Joon Young is a pro”, was posted on online communities. The article contains a video of MBC’s “We Got Married”, which aired in 2013.

In the video, when actress Jung Yu Mi left for a while, Jung Joon Young secretly poured his drink into Jung Yoo Mi’s glass. 

In response, netizens commented, “He’s a pro”, “He couldn’t hide his habit”, “Don Spike even showed off his skills of using syringe”, “Don’t let him return to the entertainment industry”, “He’s good at mixing drinks…”, “I got goosebumps”, etc.

Earlier in February 2019, Jung Joon Young was found to have initiated the distribution of illegal videos through Kakaotalk group chatrooms through Seungri’s phone and pointed out as the key figure in the Burning Sun Scandal at a club in Gangnam, Seoul, sparking a huge public outrage.

Choi Jong Hoon, a former member of F.T. Island, was also a member of the chatroom. Jung Joon Young and Choi Jong Hoon were later sentenced to prison on charges of sexually assaulting and illegally filming women.

In particular, Jung Joon Young was accused of distributing illegal videos, including secretly sharing sex videos and photos taken in a group chatroom for months, 11 times since 2015. He was sentenced to 6 years in prison in the first trial, then the sentence was reduced to 5 years in the second trial. 

In September 2020, the Supreme Court confirmed the 5-year imprisonment sentence for Jung Joon Young. He will be released on October 1, 2025.
