THE BOYZ’s virtual photocards closely mirror the concept photos of BTS
On November 14, a community post on Instiz gained popularity, sharing images of THE BOYZ’s photocards made by Zepeto. These virtual cards feature Zepeto avatars of THE BOYZ members, not their actual faces.
The criticism arose due to striking similarities between these photocards and BTS’s concept photos, noticeable in the shared tiled background, blue-toned lighting, and the distinct cross-shaped light casting onto the members’ faces.
Netizens accused THE BOYZ photocards of being copies of BTS’s concept with comments such as:
- “They look identical to BTS… and they’re not even from the same company!”
- “This is plagiarism!”
- “The resemblance is too much to call it a coinci”
- “The tile pattern, line thickness, light color, and even the cross-shaped light on their faces are identical to BTS.”
- “Is this a tribute to BTS?”
While criticism centered on the photocards and Zepeto, there was no blame directed at THE BOYZ members, who didn’t participate in the design process.
