Netizens are angry to see circumcision scenes of middle school students broadcasted on national TV
A scene of KBS2’s entertainment program “Mr. House Husband 2” is heavily criticized by netizens.
In “Mr. House Husband 2”, which aired on September 17, Hong Seong-heon’s son, Hong Hwa-cheol and his friends went to see urology specialist Hong Seong-woo to do the circumcision surgery.
On that day, five people, including Hong Hwa-cheol, decided to undergo the circumcision surgery and then proceeded with the operation order using rock-paper-scissors.
Hwa-cheol’s expression hardened in fear as he saw his friends entering the operating room one by one and his turn approached.
Hong Hwa-cheol is then shown exchanging jokes with the doctor while receiving anesthesia despite the pain. His friends who had the surgery before him also complained about the pain when the anesthesia wore off.
After the scene went on air, some netizens criticized it, saying it was too much for the minor boys.
Netizens left their comment on the online community ‘FM Korea’, saying, “Is this a joke?”, “I don’t think this is right, regardless of their gender”, “What are they doing to these underage children?”, “Is this something suitable to talk about?”, “The production team should have thought about what these children would feel,” “They’ll be traumatized for the rest of their lives with this”, “Is circumcision a joke?”, “What are they broadcasting these days?” and so on.
On the other hand, “Mr. House Husband 2” tells the story of celebrities’ families in which they go through normal life things together with both joy and tears. “Mr. House Husband 2” airs every Saturday at 9:20 PM.
