Netflix’s new series “Daily dose of Sunshine” confirms its production and casting lineup of Park Bo-young, Yeon Woo-jin, Jang Dong-yoon, Lee Jung-eun

Netflix confirmed the production of “All of Us Are Dead” director Lee Jae-kyu’s new series “Daily dose of Sunshine” starring Park Bo-young, Yeon Woo-jin, Jang Dong-yoon, and Lee Jung-eun.

Director Lee jae-kyu of series “All of Us Are Dead” will join hands with Netflix once again to introduce a healing drama called “Daily dose of Sunshine”. “Daily dose of Sunshine” tells stories of the world and heartbroken people Da-eun, who has just become a nurse in the Department of Mental Health, meets in a psychiatric ward.

Director Lee Jae-kyu is one of the best storytellers who has created great sensations across genres through various works, such as “Damo”, which marked the beginning of fusion historical dramas, “Beethoven Virus”, and the best Korean comedy movie of 2018 – “Intimate Strangers”. He also directed the hit series “All of Us Are Dead”, which spread the K-Zombie Syndrome globally by gaining 124.79 million streams and ranking No.1 on Netflix’s Worldwide Top 10 TV Shows (non-English) in just three days after its release. This time, he will come back with a healing story that will give comfort to the viewers.

Based on the webtoon of the same name with real experiences of a nurse in a psychiatric ward by Lee Ra-ha, “Daily dose of Sunshine” depicts the process of healing the wounds of each person inside and outside the psychiatric ward. Together with Lee Nam-kyu, who made people laugh and cry with dramas “The Light in Your Eyes”, “Awl”, movie series “Detective K” and variety program “Gag Concert”, Oh Bo-hyun and Kim Da-hee will join the writing of the script, raising high expectation for a new synergy. Film Monster, which has introduced many works, such as Netflix’s series “All of Us Are Dead” and movie “Intimate Strangers”, will be in charge of the production.

The casting lineup for “Daily dose of Sunshine” has also been announced. Actress Park Bo-young, who has shown a combination of lovely charms and solid acting skills through dramas “Doom at Your Service”, “Strong Girl Bong-soon”, “Oh My Ghost”, movies “On Your Wedding Day” and “A Werewolf Boy”, will play Jung Da-eun. Jung Da-eun is a nurse who moves from the department of internal medicine to the department of mental health. Although Da-eun is clumsy and she finds everything difficult, she sincerely treats her patients and grows confidently. 

Actor Yeon Woo-jin, who has shown impressive performances as various characters in dramas “Thirty-Nine”, “Undercover”, “Marriage, Not Dating”, movies “Special Cargo”, “Shades of the Heart” and “The Princess and the Matchmaker”, will take on the role of Dong Go-yoon. Dong Go-yoon is a surgeon who has a problematic personality. He is healed by the pure appearance of Da-eun and finds himself smiling at her without knowing it.

Jang Dong-yoon, who has been expanding his acting spectrum through “Search”, “The Tale of Nokdu”, “Mr. Sunshine” and “School 2017”, will appear as Song Yoo-chan. Song Yoo-chan is a close friend who always bickers with Da-eun, but he hides the pain that no one knows behind his bright outlook. Lee Jung-eun, who has proved her unrivaled presence with amazing performances in Netflix series “Juvenile Justice”, movie “Parasite”, drama “Our Blues”, “When the Camellia Blooms”, completes the main cast lineup by taking on the role of Song Hyo-shin. Song Hyo-shin is the head nurse who always steps up to protect other nurses at the psychiatric ward with her veteran appearance.

“Daily dose of Sunshine”, which is drawing keen attention for the news of its production confirmation and splendid casting lineup, will be released on Netflix.
