Nayeon dishes on her first solo promotions, her love for TWICE members, entering Billboard, and more
TWICE Nayeon in Dazed Korea magazine, "While preparing for my solo debut, I barely took a break".
In the newest interview and photoshoot for Dazed Korea, TWICE Nayeon admitted to being extremely nervous and lacking confidence before releasing her first solo album “IM NAYEON”.
Q: After successfully completing your first solo album, how are you doing these days?
A: I barely had a break while preparing for my solo album. I didn’t have time because I was busy with both my solo album and group schedules at the same time. But as soon as I finished my solo promotions, I had a party with the staff who also worked hard. I went to a good restaurant with the members, we were driving and had a lot of fun. At the dorm, I tend to eat out every day with Momo. Recently, I remember eating lamb skewers and shabu-shabu deliciously with Momo.
Q: Your 1st mini album debuted at No. 7 on Billboard’s main album chart ‘Billboard 200’, making you the first K-pop soloist in history to achieve this. How do you feel?
A: This is also TWICE‘s first solo album, and it was my first time preparing an album by myself, so there was a sense of pressure when I started. I was very worried and lacked confidence. However, I am very proud that I was able to get good results as much as I prepared hard. I especially thought of TWICE members, fans, and acquaintances who like and support this album a lot. I’m really grateful for them.
Q: Lastly, is there anything you would like to say to Nayeon’s fans and readers of DAZED?
A: I want to tell my beloved ONCEs that I will never be able to forget the first solo promotions of my life. Thank you so much for showing me your amazing support even in places that I can’t see. Please love this pictorial of DAZED August issue and also TWICE’s album that is coming out soon.
