Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin’s “My Dearest” Wins Best Drama at the 60th Baeksang Arts Awards 

The 60th Baeksang Arts Awards were held on May 7. In the TV category, the Best Drama Award went to MBC’s ‘My Dearest.’ ‘My Dearest’ is a historical melodrama that portrays love and vitality amidst the backdrop of the Imjin War, recording the highest viewership rating of 12.9% and captivating many viewers.

After sharing a touching embrace with Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin, CP Hong Seok-woo expressed, “Although it tells the history of defeat in the Imjin War, it contains the stories of characters who ultimately triumph and achieve love within that context. This drama started with a humble desire for this story to be told to the world, and I feel great satisfaction to receive an award at such a prestigious event,” and expressed sincere gratitude to actors Namgoong Min and Ahn Eun-jin for perfectly portraying the characters.

Director Kim Sung-yong continued, “This is a moment that is so overwhelming and trembling. When ‘My Dearest’ was called out from below, I felt like my heart stopped beating. Thank you to all the viewers who genuinely loved the drama more than anyone else. When I started this project and throughout, what I habitually said to the actors and staff was ‘Let’s aim for Baeksang.’ But now we’ve made it here. Just being nominated was a great honor, and it’s hard for me to continue speaking after receiving such a big award,” unable to hide his trembling heart.
