“My Dearest” Team To Wrap Their 11-Month Journey With The Final Shoot On Nov 16th

After adding one episode, “My Dearest” confirmed its final shoot a day before the last two broadcasts

According to officials in the broadcasting industry on November 15th, MBC’s Fri-Sat drama “My Dearest Part 2” will film the last scenes on November 16th. They would complete the filming a day before the broadcast of the last two episodes on the 17th and 18th.

With its filming started in December last year, “My Dearest” was originally planned to have 30 episodes but later re-organized into a 20-episode series with two parts. However, the filming prolonged and continued until just a day before the final broadcast even though there was a one-month break between Part 1 and Part 2.

In the past, many dramas wrapped filming right ahead of the last broadcast. However, as dramas are mostly pre-produced now, it is unusual to see a series that ends its filming late like “My Dearest”.

In this regard, an official said, “There are so many scenes to shoot due to the content of the drama. All the actors and production staff are doing their best for the filming until the end.”

Earlier, MBC decided to extend the broadcast of “My Dearest” by one episode and announced that the drama would end with episode 21 on November 18th.

Airing part 2 on October 13th, “My Dearest” started off well and later surpassed 10% rating thanks to the explosive support from viewers. Throughout its broadcasting period, the drama has consistently stayed at the top of the rating chart for Fri-Sat dramas and is still gaining popularity.

In particular, Gallup Korea report released on October 23rd showed “My Dearest” as the most favorite program in October among Koreans.

Set during the Qing invasion of Joseon, “My Dearest” is a historical melodrama about the romance of lovers and the survival of people in war. Starring Nam Goong-min, Ahn Eun-jin, Lee Chung-ah, Lee Hak-ju, and Lee Da-in, the drama has received favorable reviews for the cast’s passionate acting performance and solid storyline.
