Most successful idol-actress of the moment: Hit K-drama and blockbuster movie at the same time

This famous idol-actress is simultaneously appearing in highly-acclaimed projects

As of the moment, Yoona is drawing a lot of attention for her recent comeback with legendary Kpop group Girls’ Generation. At the same time, however, she’s also a capable actress with appearances in the blockbuster movie “Confidential Assignment 2: International” and the hit K-drama “Big Mouth”, where she stars alongside Hyun Bin and Lee Jong Suk, respectively.

Among Girls’ Generation members, it can be said that Yoona had the most successful acting career. In the past, however, the idol-actress used to be heavily criticized for having “stiff expressions” and “bland acting”, and was accused of only getting projects due to her popularity.

Over time, Yoona has proven her abilities, and is now one of the most successful idol-actresses in the Korean entertainment industry. The fact that she managed to balance both “Confidential Assignment 2: International” and “Big Mouth”, all the while preparing for her comeback with Girls’ Generation, is seriously impressive.

Yoona has received plenty of positive comments from viewers for her improved and mature performance in “Big Mouth”. Although “Confidential Assignment 2: International” has not officially hit theaters yet, experts’ reviews on Yoona’s acting are already good. 

Yoona’s characters in “Big Mouth” and “Confidential Assignment 2: International” are also completely different. Go Mi Ho in “Big Mouth” is a loyal, fierce married woman who is willing to do everything she can to protect her family and clear her husband’s name, while Park Min Young in “Confidential Assignment 2” is chill, funny, and single. Two characters with two separate personalities and stylings, but Yoona has pulled off both. Yoona has proved to the audience that she is not just a pretty face and successfully shut down the stereotype against idol actors.
