More than Half of “Single’s Inferno” Cast Want to Become Celebrities: Prefer the Spotlight over Dating?
The debut process of aspiring entertainers has drastically changed.
Some go through years of training as trainees through public auditions to debut, while others become stars overnight after appearing on TV once.
Cases of individuals breaking the traditional “celebrity debut formula” by appearing on dating reality shows and then signing exclusive contracts with agencies are emerging.
Following their appearance on Channel A’s ‘Heart Signal,’ members of ‘Single’s Inferno 2,’ including Dex, Shin Seul Gi, Lee So E, and Park Se Jeong, are also rising as popular stars.
Dex made a strong impression when he appeared on ‘Single’s Inferno 2.’ Currently, Dex has regular appearances on various reality shows.
Additionally, Dex won Best New Male Entertainer at the recent Blue Dragon Series Awards for ‘Bloody Game 2.’ He is likely to be considered for awards at the MBC Entertainment Awards as well.
Shin Seul Gi, who developed a love line with Dex in ‘Single’s Inferno 2,’ recently signed an exclusive contract with Big Smile Entertainment, officially debuting as an actress through the drama ‘The Pyramid Game.’
Similarly, Lee So E, who appeared on ‘Single’s Inferno 2,’ signed an exclusive contract with Saram Entertainment, where artists like Umn Jung Hwa, Byun Yo Han, and Honey Lee are affiliated.
Lee So E, a graduate of the Theater and Film Department at Hanyang University, made her debut through various short films and stage plays and became known for web drama roles. She also appeared as a victim of school violence, Yoon So Hee, in Netflix’s hit series ‘The Glory.’
Park Se Jeong belongs to K-Plus Holdings (YG KPLUS). While she appeared in ‘Single’s Inferno 2’ as a model under the company, she recently started her full-fledged activities as an actress and broadcaster.
In particular, she made a special appearance in tvN’s new drama ‘My Lovely Liar,’ which premiered on July 31st. Park Se Jeong is expanding her territory as an actress as she engages in more serious acting roles.
Other cast members like Choi Seo Eun, Jo Yung Jae, Kim Se Jun, and Lee Nadine may not be actively pursuing entertainment careers, but they are quite active as influencers.
More than half of the members who appeared in “Single’s Inferno 2” have entered the advertising and broadcasting industries.
In the past, when dating reality shows for non-celebrities emerged, there was a celebratory atmosphere for the debut of the non-celebrity participants.
However, as more cases of dating show cast members abandoning their original careers to become celebrities continue, there is now skepticism about their authenticity.
If they have chosen to become celebrities, they should let go of the idea of pursuing a career in the entertainment industry solely based on their popularity. If they build their skills properly before standing in front of the camera, positive views towards them will naturally follow.
