More K-pop Idols After BLACKPINK’s Lisa Rumored to Be Restricted in China

This rumor has sparked debates on Weibo. EXO’s Chanyeol, aespa’s Karina, and more idols are next in line?

On November 1st, BLACKPINK Lisa’s official account and her fan club’s Weibo accounts suddenly disappeared. What’s more, two luxury brands endorsed by Lisa, Celine and Bvlgari, also wiped all traces of her from their accounts. This has raised suspicions that Lisa may have become blacklisted in the Chinese market.

There have also been rumors circulating on Weibo about many other K-pop stars being canceled alongside Lisa. Specifically, this list includes the three remaining BLACKPINK members, aespa’s Karina, (G)I-DLE’s Shuhua, and EXO’s Chanyeol. Among these, the three BLACKPINK members are believed to be restricted due to their support for Lisa’s Crazy Horse show, while the others may have personal controversies or inappropriate remarks. The rumor suggests that the entertainment content and albums of these idols will face restrictions in China.

This rumor has left many fans confused. However, some argue that it’s only an unfounded rumor that lacks evidence. Currently, the Weibo accounts of these idols remain active, and their entertainment content is still intact. This information has not appeared on any major Chinese news outlets.

Angelababy and Jenny Zhang

In late September, Lisa’s Crazy Horse show sparked controversy. Chinese fans criticized Lisa for having a negative influence on young fans. Angelababy and Jenny Zhang attended the show and faced backlash. Both of their Weibo accounts were restricted for violating the law and other regulations. Angelababy was removed from many programs and advertisements and is believed to have sought help from her ex-husband, Huang Xiaoming. Meanwhile, Zhang Jiayi was removed from the cast of an upcoming work.
