Moon Chae-won To Not Participate In “SBS Drama Awards” For “Payback,” Lee Sun-kyun’s Drug Scandal Aftermath?

Actress Moon Chae-won will not participate in the 2023 SBS Drama Awards

According to a Star News report posted on December 7th, Moon Chae-won will not attend the 2023 SBS Drama Awards, which will be held on December 29th.

Moon Chae-won starred in SBS’s Friday-Saturday drama “Payback.” This was her comeback production in about two years and three months after tvN’s Wednesday-Thursday drama “The Flower of Evil,” which ended in September 2020.

“Payback” performed well with the highest viewer rating of 11.4% (based on Nielsen Korea’s national standards). It was the third highest among SBS dramas this year, following “Taxi Driver 2” and “Dr. Romantic 3.” Moon Chae-won played the role of Park Joon-kyung, a justice officer, and army major in “Payback.”

The “SBS Drama Awards” is a place to praise actors and staff for their hard work this year. Lee Je-hoon, Pyo Ye-jin, Ahn Hyo-seop, Song Kang, Park Sung-woong, and Kim Tae-ri are discussing their participation. However, Lee Sun-kyun, the lead actor of “Payback,” has been embroiled in a drug scandal since October. This was suspected of being the reason for Moon Chae-won’s absence from the upcoming award ceremony.

Meanwhile, other co-stars of Lee Sun-kyun have not confirmed their appearance at the event.
