“Money Game” to be produced into an OTT content; Ryu Jun-yeol, IU, Park Jung-min confirmed their appearance

The OTT series “Money Game” is an eight-part drama based on two works, “Money Game” and “Pi Game.” The story sets place while 8 participants dealt with repeated cooperation and antagonism in an extreme setting where the game ends when someone dies, in a space where they are cut off from the social infrastructure. Director Han Jae-rim of the film “Emergency Declaration”, which is considered a highly expected film in 2022, is in charge of scripting and directing, while actors Ryu Joon-yeol, Lee Ji-eun (IU), Park Jung-min, Park Hae-joon, and Bae Sung-woo have confirmed their casting. The drama shows fierce mind games and emotional confrontations among participants for the prize money, heralding the birth of a well-made drama that combines tension with reality.
Ryu Jun-yeol, who has shown a different depth of emotion in the JTBC drama “Lost” last year, will reunite with director Han Jae-rim as the main character of “Money Game” after “The King.” Lee Ji-eun, who is cast in Japan’s famous director Hirokaz Koreeda‘s first Korean film “Broker,” will also join. Park Jung-min, who showed an impressive performance in the Netflix series “Hellbound,” also decided to join, completed a legendary casting for the series. In addition, powerful actors such as Park Hae-joon, who shows off his unique acting and created a syndrome with the drama “The World of the Married,” and Bae Sung-woo, who shows her unrivaled presence in every work she appears in, are expected to show a great performance.
Director Han Jae-rim has been recognized for both his workability and popularity for his films “The Face” and “The King.” He will challenge directing an OTT series for the first time with “Money Game.” Studio N, which leads Naver Webtoon’s remake business with works such as “Sweet Home,” “Our Beloved Summer,” and “Yumi’s Cells,” and Magnum Nine, which produced the films “The King” and “Emergency Declaration,” will be in charge of the production. Lotte Culture Works is in charge of the investment and participates as a co-production company. The series is scheduled to start its filming in the first half of 2022.
