Japanese gravure idol Momose Momo (ももせもも) has drawn attention not just for her striking M-cup figure (129 cm bust), but also for the unexpected pain and emotional challenges that come with her proportions. In a recent Nikka SPA! interview, she revealed her personal struggles—from being unable to sleep properly to facing intense body insecurities—until a brief encounter with a childhood idol changed everything.
“Sleeping is the most painful part,” Momose confessed. Lying on her back causes her chest to press against her throat, making it hard to breathe. Even sleeping on her side isn’t much better, as her chest pushes up to her chin. To get any rest, she relies on body pillows and triangular cushions usually used by pregnant women or those with acid reflux.

Daily activities are equally taxing. She avoids stairs entirely, admitting that her chest blocks her view of the steps and puts others at risk if she were to fall. Even clipping toenails requires twisting her body at odd angles to avoid her bust.
Before entering the gravure world, Momose worked as a kindergarten teacher. She was scouted by a talent agency president but hesitated for three years due to self-doubt. Everything changed when she met her longtime idol, MEGUMI, who told her:
“*Your chest is your weapon. It would be a waste not to use it.*”

This encouragement sparked her decision to embrace her figure and pursue gravure modeling.
Her debut appearance on the talk show Out x Deluxe gave her further courage. The team encouraged her to be authentic, and host Matsuko Deluxe reassured her, saying, “Your body isn’t vulgar. Just be proud.“
As Momose began to open up and share her real self on social media, her following—including a growing number of female fans—exploded. She said it felt like her world had expanded.
For others facing body image issues, especially those struggling with large chests, Momose shared: “I can’t tell you to ‘be bold’ because it’s not always safe. But don’t close your heart. There’s a place for you. Just like there was for me.”
