Model and actor Ye Hak Young has reportedly passed away at the age of 40.
Model and actor Ye Hak Young passed away on the morning of Dec 24th at the age of 40.
The exact cause of Ye Hak Young’s death is unknown. The mortuary is set up at Sungsim Hospital of Hallym University in Anyang, Gyeonggi-do. His acquaintances who heard the sudden sad news gathered to bid their farewell to Ye Hak Young in sorrow.
He will be buried at the Xi’an Family Memorial Park in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province.
Ye Hak Young made his debut as a model of the Seoul Collection in 2001, and drew attention as a top model alongside Kang Dong Won, Gong Yoo, and Ju Ji Hoon. Since then, he has turned into an actor by appearing in sitcoms “Nonstop 4,” movies “Cadaver,” “Like Father, Like Son,” and “Horny Family.”
In 2009, he was arrested on charges of smuggling and administering drugs (ketamine and ecstasy). At that time, he was sentenced to two and a half years in prison, four years of probation, and 200 hours of community service. Due to this, he completely suspended his activities.
He then resumed his activities by appearing in the preliminary rounds of Mnet’s “Serenade Operation” in 2011 and tvN’s “Korea’s Got Talent 2” in Seoul in 2012. However, in 2019, he was booked by the police without detention on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act after he drove a motorcycle under the influence of alcohol near Sowol-ro, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
