Mnet’s new audition program “Boys Planet” is showing excellent signs

“Boys Planet”, a new survival program produced by Mnet, has set an unusual record and raised expectations

On February 23rd, “Boys Planet” said. “As of the last 21st, video clips of ‘Boys Planet’ have accumulated a total of 152,727,827 views, which come from as many as 170 cities and regions, including Europe, Asia, North America, and South America”.

Boys Planet

This is a record established after the 3rd episode of “Boys Planet”. On this day, individual direct cam videos of the trainees on the show’s first mission stages were released and uploaded to YouTube for the first time, drawing global viewers’ attention to the 4th episode more than ever. Expectations are rising as to who will be the groups and teams that will win the final victory and benefit.

On the other hand, “Boys Planet” is a survival audition program, where top ranking trainees are selected by 100% votes of global viewers to form a boy group. Since the show is produced by Mnet, which is behind various star-making programs such as “Produce 101” and “Show me the Money”, it immediately received enthusiastic expectations from both the domestic and international Kpop fandom, as well as from the domestic music industry.

Boys Planet

“Boys Planet”, which is broadcast simultaneously in Korea and Japan, has also become a hot topic in both nations, on par with other domestic contents. In particular, according to Global OTT Rakuten Viki, “Boys Planet” ranked first in a total of 21 regions across the globe, including Sweden, Norway, Portugal, Chile, and Saudi Arabia, as well as in the Top 5 of 42 countries including the UK, Germany, France, and Spain.

Attention is being focused on whether the project group that will be born through “Boys Planet” will be able to gain global popularity like their predecessors I.O.I, Wanna One, IZ*ONE, Kep1er, etc.
