This is not the first time that the BTS member’s performance skills are acknowledged.
In a conversation with the production team of an Mnet TV show, when asked which idol had the best stage skills, PD Nam Dong Yoon did not hesitate to name V (BTS).
This is not surprising at all as the BTS member has long been recognized for his interaction with audiences through the fancam. He also holds the most viewed fancam in YouTube history with his Boy With Luv fancam with more than 138 million views, a much higher number than many Kpop idol MVs.
In addition, according to Mnet producer Cho Hye Mee, V often proposes ideas for stages in BTS‘ concerts. For example, the performance of “Dynamite” at MAMA 2020.
This producer said, “At the end of the show, there is a scene where V takes off his glasses, which was not originally in the script.”
“However, V came to me at the end of the rehearsal and suggested that the ending would be more impressive when he took off his glasses and stared at the camera. We agreed with this idea and indeed, it was wonderful”.
Performance skills are one of the must-have skills of an idol. It’s not just about the charisma on stage, the performing experience, but a celebrity has to spot the camera in an instant to be able to interact with the audience. And V completely deserves the title “stage genius“.
