Mnet, known for sparking a nationwide dance craze, released the first teaser for its upcoming 2026 program on March 17 through its official channel The CHOOM, hinting at a high-stakes competition that will heat up the summer season.
This new project is positioned as the next evolution following the global success of Street Woman Fighter. Unlike previous installments that primarily highlighted dancers’ technical skills, the upcoming series will center on “performance directors” who conceptualize, design, and execute entire stage productions based on choreography.
In today’s K-pop industry, the role of performance directors has become increasingly vital, going beyond choreography to include stage design, movement flow, and overall visual storytelling. Through missions featured in the “Street” series such as class battles and mega crew performances viewers have already witnessed the power of strong direction in creating complete, high-quality performances. Building on this trend, the new show will shine a spotlight on the world of directing, featuring intense creative battles among global performance directors armed with originality and vision.

One of the most notable aspects of the upcoming series is its groundbreaking co-ed competition format the first of its kind in Mnet’s dance survival history. While previous seasons separated contestants by gender, this new format removes those boundaries to focus purely on the essence of performance directing.
The production team explained, “In real-world choreography and stage production environments, collaboration and competition happen regardless of gender, based solely on skill and creativity. This series will go beyond asking who dances better, and instead explore who can create the most impactful performance, without limitations.”
Previously, Mnet built a powerful franchise starting with Street Woman Fighter in 2021, which ignited a dance phenomenon across South Korea. The series later expanded into Street Man Fighter, Stage Fighter, and World of Street Woman Fighter, establishing itself as a major force in shaping K-culture trends.
