Japanese actress Mitsushima Hikari has surprised fans with the announcement of her marriage and pregnancy.
According to Entame on March 30, the actress personally shared the news through a heartfelt message. “Hello everyone. I have an announcement today. I, Mitsushima Hikari, and Asano Keisuke have officially registered our marriage and are now legally husband and wife. I am also currently pregnant,” she wrote.
She continued, expressing gratitude and happiness: “Thanks to the care and warmth from those around me, I am prioritizing both my physical and mental health while cherishing every happy and miraculous moment in life. I hope you will continue to support and watch over us. Thank you sincerely to everyone who has always shown love and kindness. I look forward to your continued support.”
Her announcement quickly drew attention online, with many colleagues and fans flooding the comments with congratulatory messages and well wishes for the couple.
Born in 1985, Mitsushima Hikari is of Japanese and French-Canadian descent. She began her career at a young age and gradually rose to become one of Japan’s leading actresses, with notable works including the hit series First Love. She was previously married to director Yuya Ishii for six years. After their divorce, she dated actor Kento Nagayama, though the two parted ways in 2019.
Her husband, Asano Keisuke, is a model from Sapporo, Hokkaido, and is nine years younger than her. He is currently signed under NEXT Management.
