A set of pre-debut photos featuring Hearts2Hearts member Jiwoo is drawing major attention online but not without sparking controversy.
The images, originally taken in 2022 before her official debut in 2025, were recently shared by a fansite as part of an April Fools’ post. While many fans were excited to see a glimpse of her trainee days, others quickly raised concerns about how the photos were obtained.

In the pictures, Jiwoo is seen attending a concert hosted by SM Entertainment. Fans pointed out that this is not unusual, as trainees are sometimes allowed to attend senior artists’ concerts as a reward or learning experience.
Within K-pop fandom culture, it is widely known that trainees may be given opportunities to observe live performances after evaluations. These experiences are often seen as both motivation and a chance to learn directly from established idols.
However, what unsettled many fans was not the setting, but the method behind the photos. Trainees typically enter venues through restricted artist entrances rather than general admission, which led to speculation about how a fansite managed to capture such images.
Because trainees with striking visuals often stand out even before debut, they can sometimes be recognized by dedicated fans. Still, the situation has led some netizens to question whether the fansite had insider access or if the behavior crossed into sasaeng territory.

Following the post, online discussions quickly intensified. Some criticized the release of the photos, arguing that documenting trainees without consent violates their privacy and mirrors intrusive sasaeng behavior.
Others, however, defended the fansite, claiming that such occurrences have long been part of fan culture and are not necessarily malicious.
As the debate continues, the incident once again highlights the increasingly blurred boundary between fan enthusiasm and personal privacy in the K-pop industry.
