Producer Min Hee Jin boasted about the loud cheers for her girl group NewJeans at the Lollapalooza 2023 festival.
On August 3rd (local time), NewJeans (Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein) took the stage of the world-famous Lollapalooza 2023 music festival held at Grant Park, Chicago. They are the first girl group to perform at this event.
Lollapalooza is known to be the dream stage for many artists. This can clearly be seen just by considering the fact that famous pop star Billie Eilish was the headliner of the show.
Min Hee Jin, who is called NewJeans’ “Korean mom”, also conveyed her feelings about the heat at the festival. Surprised to see the crowd at the festival singing along to NewJeans’ songs in Korea, Min Hee Jin posted a video on her SNS with the caption, “Everyone is so good at Korean”.
Meanwhile, NewJeans started their performance with their debut track “Hype Boy” then presented to stage live band rearrangements of mega-hit songs “Cookie”, “Hurt (remix ver.)”, and “Attention” from their debut album “New Jeans”. Single “Ditto” and the title “OMG” also continued to heat up the atmosphere of the Lollapalooza festival.
The highlight of NewJeans’ appearance at Lollapalooza is the performance of the six songs from their second mini album “Get Up”. From the first track “New Jeans” to the triple titles “Super Shy”, “ETA”, “Cool With You”, the interlude song “Get Up” and the track “ASAP”, NewJeans members impressed the audience and received explosive responses for their spectacular stages, relaxed stage presence, and stable live singing skills.
