Million of copies within the first week, aespa is aiming at the title of ‘queen of 4th generation’

Girl group aespa is showing dazzling results by becoming the ‘record maker’ with their second mini album ‘Girls’.

Aespa released their second mini album “Girls” on the 8th. “Girls” is an album that wraps up season 1 of SMCU’s aespa Worldview. The 6 new songs include the title track ‘Girls’ of the same name, the English and Korean versions of the pre-released song ‘Life to Short’, ‘Illusion’, ‘Lingo’, ‘ICU’. Previously released songs “Black Mamba”, “Forever” and “Dreams Come True” were included as bonus tracks.

Thanks to its story and musicality, aespa Mini’s second album “Girls” is receiving enthusiastic responses from global music fans. This album achieved the highest pre-order record for K-pop girl groups with 1.61 million pre-orders, followed by first-week sales of 1.426,487 copies. In particular, aespa is the first girl group to become an “Initial Chodong million-seller”.

In particular, “Girls” ranked third on Billboard’s main chart “Billboard 200” – the highest among K-pop girl groups this year, and also ranked third on the “Artist 100” chart, which shows the artist’s influence and recognition in the U.S.

The ranking of the songs is also noticeable. The new song “Girls” is ranked 10th on Melon (based on the daily chart on the 22nd) and is ranked at the top of domestic music sites such as Bugs and Genie. It also recorded meaningful results on the global charts. On the “Billboard Global” (excluding the U.S.) chart, new songs “Girls”, pre-released and included songs “Illusion” and “Life too Short” also entered the chart.
