Former Japanese AV actress turned broadcaster Mihiro Kaneko has drawn attention after candidly discussing the reason behind her divorce. Mihiro, who currently operates a YouTube travel channel focused on Korea, shared her personal story during her appearance on the TV Asahi variety show “The Hell I Most Want to Confess,” which aired on January 29.

Mihiro married stunt performer Shimokawa Shinya in October 2018, but the couple later divorced after three years of marriage. Reflecting on that period, she revealed that the two initially entered married life hoping to have children.

She explained that they seriously began preparing for pregnancy, but over time, the process gradually changed the dynamic of their relationship. Mihiro said that their marital intimacy eventually stopped feeling like an expression of love and instead became something closer to a task or obligation centered solely around having a child.

She described the emotional toll of that shift, saying the experience became extremely exhausting and even felt transactional. Mihiro added that it stopped being enjoyable for both herself and her former husband, noting that the pressure to create the right mood also became stressful for the couple. According to her, the emotional fatigue ultimately led them to discuss separation.

Mihiro rose to fame as a major AV star in the 2000s before retiring from the industry in 2010. Since then, she has remained active in entertainment as a television personality and content creator. She has visited Korea multiple times and has recently been operating a travel and vlog YouTube channel aimed at Korean audiences, gaining attention for sharing her experiences and cultural insights.
