Following “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” craze, ENA has been proving its name value with continuous impressive dramas
Released its first episode on November 1st, the new drama “Moon in the Day” began with a rating of 1.6% and emerged as a strong rival to MBC’s “A Good Day to Be a Dog”, starring Cha Eun-woo. In fact, “A Good Day to Be a Dog” disappointed viewers as it fell to 1.7% in the recent broadcast.
“A Good Day to Be a Dog” is MBC’s first challenge with a Wednesday drama. However, it is considered a failed attempt due to the broadcasting plan of releasing only one episode a week. Episode 1 of this drama recorded 2.2% but fell below the 2% range after only 4 broadcasts.
In fact, tvN’s “Hospital Playlist” also released one episode per week, but it succeeded in achieving both high ratings and hot topics. Comparing the two dramas, viewers pointed out that the reason “A Good Day to Be a Dog” became a failure is Cha Eun-woo’s poor acting.
Cha Eun-woo has often caused controversies over his acting skills, stiff facial expressions and boring voice tone in previous dramas, such as “Gangnam Beauty”, “True Beauty”, and “Rookie Historian Goo Hae-ryung”. Although he showed improvements after starring in TVING’s “Ireland”, a leading role is still too difficult for him to handle.
On the other hand, ENA’s “Moon in the Day” captivated viewers as it was more interesting than expected. Releasing the first episode on November 1st, “Moon in the Day” tells the unfortunate relationship between Do-ha (Kim Young-dae) and Han Ri-ta (Pyo Ye-jin) after the Daegaya war and their first reunion as top star Han Joon-oh and firefighter Kang Young-hwa.
Starting off well with a rating of 1.6%, which is similar to the previous series “The Kidnapping Day”, “Moon in the Day” is expected to perform even better in the future.
