“Marry My Husband”, which was doing well, is in trouble with BoA’s appearance? The real problem is “lack of plausibility”

tvN’s Monday-Tuesday drama “Marry My Husband” revolves around a woman who was murdered after witnessing her husband’s affair with her best friend. She goes back ten years earlier and begins her second life. Park Min-young, Na In-woo, Lee Yi-kyung, Song Ha-yoon and Lee Gi-kwang are among the cast.

Park Min-young’s return to the small screen after one year and two months has garnered attention, while the “villainous” performances of Lee Yi-kyung and Song Ha-yoon have sparked significant discussion. Their actions, leading to the death of Kang Ji-won (Park Min-young) and her subsequent rebirth, have stirred viewers’ anger and caused over-immersion.

“Marry My Husband” started with a rating of 5.2% and showed a rising trend as the story progressed. It later surpassed double-digit ratings, boasting a peak rating of 13.4%, receiving praise from viewers for its plot development in each episode.

Accordingly, viewers have been anticipating Oh Yu-ra (BoA), the fiancée of Yoo Ji-hyuk (Na In-woo), even before her appearance.

Oh Yu-ra is the granddaughter of a chaebol family. She is characterized as a spoiled and privileged individual, who mistakenly believes she is engaged to Yoo Ji-hyuk due to a joke played by the elders in her family, exhibiting an obsession with Yoo Ji-hyuk.

However, opinions among viewers have been divided since BoA’s appearance in the 11th episode. Dissatisfied viewers criticized the lack of “plausibility”.

The importance of the role of Oh Yu-ra, a character present in the original novel but absent in the original webtoon, increased compared to the original work, prompting reactions that her involvement is heavier than anticipated. Viewers expressed opinions such as “the plot is implausible“, “it gets boring as it progresses“, “why did they change the adaptation like this“, “it feels like a different drama since episode 11” and more.

With 12 episodes aired out of the 16-episode series, concerns have arisen that the drama might conclude as an anticlimax.

Amidst anticipation for Oh Yu-ra’s appearance, the ratings soared to 11.8% in the 11th episode but dropped to 10.5% in the 12th episode, showing a decrease of 1.3%. As the original novel and the storyline diverge, attention is focused on whether the drama can satisfy viewers with its ending and continue to receive positive reviews.
