“Malicious comments, mental hospital, bipolar disorder,” this rapper finally returns after a long hiatus 

A rapper from “Show Me the Money,” who had been quiet for a while without any news, delivered a welcoming update for the first time in a long time.

On Oct 7th, YouTube channel “Recent Olympics” uploaded a video titled “[Let’s meet Yook Ji-dam] Recent status of a 25-year-old Show Me Unpretty Rapper”.

In the video, Yook Ji-dam recalled the time when she appeared in Mnet’s “Show Me the Money 3,” which gave her the nickname “Hip Hop Teasing Girl.” “It was my first stage then and it was my first time at a concert hall, so I was so nervous that I had to do something,” she said. “When I went down after the stage, Tablo said, ‘If you do that one more time, I’ll take away your microphone’.”

Regarding her long hiatus after Mnet’s “Unpretty Rapstar,” she said, “The burnout was long,” adding, “I worked part-time while looking for other things. I worked part-time at a billiard room in front of my house. There were people who recognized me, but what can I do?” she confessed.

“That billiard room’s hourly pay was quite good. At that time, the minimum hourly wage was around 7,000 won, but I received more than 10,000 won per hour even though it was only a weekday part-time job, not even a night-shift one,” she explained.

Yook Ji-dam also confessed how she was hurt by the malicious comments. She said, “Yang Dong-geun, the MC of Unpretty Rapstar, held my hand and prayed for me after seeing my cried due to malicious comments,” and added, “My dad didn’t sleep at night to read comments about me. He pressed unlike on all the malicious comments,” she recalled.
