EXO Kai announced his sudden military enlistment during a live broadcast and got chased out of the playground by security.
On May 3rd, SM Entertainment suddenly announced that EXO Kai would be enlisting in the military.
Kai was preparing for EXO’s comeback later this year, but he will be halting his activities and entering the army training center on May 11th to receive basic military training.
Kai is scheduled to serve as a social service worker after completing basic military training. Fans were shocked by the sudden news, and Kai himself was in a state of confusion.
To comfort his bewildered fans, Kai started a live broadcast on Instagram. Wearing a hoodie and cap, he went live outdoors and announced his enlistment. He ended up shedding tears and expressed his affection and regret for his fans, saying, “I wish I could see your faces before I leave. I miss you guys.“
Saying goodbye to fans was not easy for Kai. He was chased out of the playground by a security guard. Hearing the guard’s distant shout of “You have to leave now,” Kai quickly ended the live.
Until then, Kai had been sobbing and choking up, but he joked that the situation was like a comedy skit and said, “It was a good finish,” showing a cheerful appearance.
Kai held a free fan meeting at Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu on May 9th for his fans. The event was live-streamed online through EXO’s channel on YouTube. The location and time of Kai’s enlistment will not be unveiled.
