The global Netflix hit K-Pop Demon Hunters is bringing its creators and stars together in Korea for the first time. According to industry insiders on August 16, director Maggie Kang, the Korean-Canadian filmmaker behind the fantasy action animation, will meet Ahn Hyo-seop, who voiced Jin-woo, the leader of the boy group Saja Boys, during her visit to Seoul.
The meeting is set to take place on August 21, a day before Maggie Kang’s official press conference. The pair will film special Netflix content together, marking their first in-person interaction. Until now, they had only communicated via video calls, with Ahn Hyo-seop recording his lines separately in Korea.
On August 22, Maggie Kang will hold a press conference at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall, where she is expected to share insights on the film’s global success and her thoughts on bringing Korean culture to an international audience.
This will be Maggie Kang’s first official event in Korea since the film’s release in June 2025. The animated film follows HUNTR/X, a world-famous K-pop girl group who double as demon hunters, as they battle against the grim reaper boy group Saja Boys to save the world.
The project has been praised for blending K-pop aesthetics, fantasy action, and traditional Korean cultural elements, making it a standout in Netflix’s animated lineup. Its unique storyline and cultural depth have contributed to its soaring popularity worldwide.
With Maggie Kang and Ahn Hyo-seop’s first meeting now confirmed, fans are eager to see what behind-the-scenes stories and new content will come from their collaboration.
