“Ma Dong Seok will return”… Marvel to produce “Shang-Chi 2” and “Eternals 2”

Marvel reportedly decided to push ahead with the production of hero movies “Shang-Chi 2” and “Eternals 2”.

On February 22nd (local time), The Direct reported, “‘Shang-Chi 2’ and ‘Eternals 2’ have been added to Marvel’s production schedule”.

“Shang-Chi 2” was originally set to premiere on February 14, 2025. However, as that schedule has already been announced for “Fantastic 4”, the release date of “Shang-Chi 2” remains undecided.

Ma Dong-seok

In a past interview, Marvel president Kevin Feige said that a sequel to “Shang-Chi” has been planned. Accordingly, “Avengers 5: The Kang Dynasty”, which is scheduled for May 2nd, 2025 as the last movie of Marvel Phase 5, will be directed by “Shang-Chi” director Destin Cretton. The media said, “If Marvel wants to release it before ‘Avengers 5’, the two films may have direct connections”.

Apart from “Shang-Chi 2”, “Eternals 2” will also be produced in earnest. The Direct said, “Considering all the difficulties that the first movie of ‘Eternals’ had to face, the fact that a green light was turned on for ‘Eternals 2’ is obviously a win for MCU fans”.

Ma Dong-seok

On December 26th last year, Ma Dong Seok’s agency stated, “Ma Dong Seok is currently filming ‘The Roundup 5’. ‘Holy Night: Demon Hunters’, ‘The Wilderness’ and ‘The Roundup: Punishment’ will be released soon. In addition, he will produce and join ‘Eternals 2’ and global projects.”

Fans are looking forward to seeing how Gilgamesh (Ma Dong Seok), who died in “Eternals”, will be revived in the sequel movie.
