TV CHOSUN’s upcoming romance-reality show Love That Burns Fat is already generating heat literally and figuratively from its very first recording. The production team and MCs, including Kim Jong Kook, Lee Soo Ji, and Uee, were reportedly caught off guard by the explosive chemistry and confidence of the contestants.
Described as a “love diet project,” Love That Burns Fat combines dating and fitness in a format never before seen on Korean television. It aims to guide participants on a journey where they lose weight and find love simultaneously, creating an emotionally immersive experience charged with dopamine and desire.
During the recent shoot, MC Lee Soo Ji was so overwhelmed by the contestants’ bold energy what producers called “two-hot mode” that a fan had to be brought in mid-recording to cool things down. She later commented, “There were so many attractive participants. Seeing how many of them struggle with love made me want to help boost their self-esteem.”
Kim Jong Kook also expressed surprise at the dramatic transformations, saying, “It really showed how different someone can look when they work on themselves. It made me realize how positive change can affect perception.”
Uee shared an emotional moment from the set: “One female participant wasn’t chosen by the male contestants, and seeing her so heartbroken moved me to tears. You could feel how sincere everyone was in their pursuit of love.”
