A single Instagram post by BLACKPINK’s Lisa has shaken Korea’s stock market. On October 24, SAMG Entertainment’s stock price skyrocketed after the global idol shared a photo showing a “Hachuping” phone grip attached to her smartphone.

Hachuping is a popular character from SAMG’s hit animation Catch! Teenieping, and Lisa’s casual use of the item triggered a massive surge in both fan demand and investor excitement.

As of 12:30 PM KST, SAMG Entertainment shares were trading at ₩63,400, up 22.4% from the previous session. Earlier in the day, prices even hit ₩64,900, marking a 25.3% intraday spike an extraordinary jump attributed entirely to Lisa’s influence.

The company’s trading volume also spiked sharply within hours, mirroring what Korean media called the “Hachuping Effect.”

Lisa, who boasts nearly 100 million Instagram followers, uploaded a photo showing her phone decorated with the cute, cloud-shaped Hachuping grip. Within minutes, fans identified the character and flooded social media and shopping platforms looking for related merchandise.

Retail searches for “Teenieping” and “Hachuping goods” on Naver and Coupang surged, and several items sold out online by the afternoon.

Industry experts noted that Lisa’s global brand power translates directly into consumer behavior and investor confidence.

“Her single post immediately boosts brand recognition,” explained Kim A-ram, an analyst at Shinhan Investment & Securities. “Even though Q2 earnings were below expectations, this exposure could have long-term marketing value for SAMG.”

This isn’t the first time Lisa’s influence has shaken markets. Last year, when she posted a photo of Pop Mart figurines, resale prices for those toys soared to 30 times their retail value, driving Pop Mart’s short-term sales spike.

Analysts believe SAMG could see similar momentum. The company, which recently faced weak Q2 earnings (₩5.4 billion in operating profit, down 15%), is expected to rebound in the second half with new Teenieping products and a collaboration project with SM Entertainment.
