Lim Ji Yeon “I get along very well with Song Hye Kyo…’The Glory 2′ has really scary lines”
Actress Lim Ji Yeon raised expectations for “The Glory” season 2.
On Feb 23rd, Lim Ji Yeon‘s interview video was uploaded on the YouTube channel “Cosmopolitan Korea”.
In the video, Lim Ji Yeon talked about the reason why she chose Netflix’s series “The Glory“, “There was a sense of immersion that I felt when I read the script. Each character in the script was attractive. I wanted to play a villain at least once, so I chose it with the thought ‘Oh, this is mine’.”
Regarding the part that Lim Ji Yeon paid most attention to while playing the role of Park Yeon Jin, she said, “I thought about how Yeon Jin could become an attractive villain. Instead of using characters in famous works featuring famous villains as references, what I eventually found through a lot of thought and research was to start as Lim Ji Yeon.”
When asked about the lines she felt scared, she replied, “In fact, the really scary lines come out in season 2. I don’t think there was anything special in season 1. What I remember is the scene in which Yeon Jin visits school after learning that Moon Dong Eun becomes her daughter’s homeroom teacher. I didn’t know when I was filming that scene, but that line was a bit loud. ‘You’re better than expected.'”
Lim Ji Yeon also said that she really wanted to try other roles besides Park Yeon Jin. She explained, “When I first read the script, I found every character charming. Even the role of Park Yeon Jin’s mother is attractive. So I thought I should take on this role no matter what. If I had to choose another character aside from Park Yeon Jin, it would be Lee Sara. Should I try playing a character that strong later on?”
Lim Ji Yeon mentioned her friendship with the cast of “The Glory”, saying, “On the set, we talk about eating or about dogs. Song Hye Kyo bought us delicious pork belly, and we get along very well. We have become really close friends. Filming is done, but because it went well, we meet more often.”
Regarding the acting she wants to challenge in the future, Lim Ji Yeon said, “I’m learning a lot and working on different genres. Since I’m doing a drama with a dark genre, I want to do a family drama next.”
Finally, to the viewers who are waiting for Part 2 of “The Glory”, Lim Ji Yeon said, “Many people who watched Part 1 said that they watched it all in one sitting. Part 1 is actually just a preview. Things will get much more intense in Part 2 where all kinds of emotions explode as the characters go through really different extreme situations.”
