Lightsum’s Han Chowon reveals how she felt about being a victim of Produce 48’s vote manipulation
Han Chowon was asked about the damage she suffered from the rigged votes scandal of “Produce 48” at the group’s showcase.
On May 24th, Han Chowon’s group Lightsum held a comeback showcase on the release of their first mini-album “Into The Light” at Blue Square in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
On this day, Chowon joined her members to unveil the first stage for their new song “ALIVE”, which captures an achromatic world turning lively through an intense sound. With a cool dance line and impressive vocals, Chowon’s performance drew much attention.
When asked about the ranking manipulation of “Produce 48”, Chowon answered: “I would be lying if I said I felt no disappointment or loss.”
Previously in 2018, Chowon participated in the Mnet survival audition program “Produce 48”, as a trainee under Cube Entertainment. She was supposed to debut as she placed 6th in the final round of voting, but was unrightfully eliminated due to vote manipulation committed by the program’s main PD Ahn Joon Young and the production team.
