Actress Lim Ji Yeon expressed her deep affection for “Lies Hidden in My Garden”.
On June 19th, the press conference of Genie TV’s original series “Lies Hidden in My Garden” was held at Stanford Hotel, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Actors Kim Tae Hee, Lim Ji Yeon, Kim Sung Oh, Choi Jae Rim and director Jung Ji Hyun attended the event. Broadcaster Park Kyung Lim hosted the event.
Lim Ji Yeon talked about the reason for choosing the work, “I fell in love with the original novel so much that I thought, ‘This is mine.’ Rather than wanting to show a different side as an actress, I wanted to know and dig into a woman named Chu Sang Eun.”
Lim Ji Yeon thinks that the point viewers should focus on in “Lies Hidden in My Garden” is “heaviness”. Lim Ji Yeon explained, “It’s not a thriller with provocative scenes, but there’s a heavy feeling that only our drama can give. I think the strange atmosphere and the ironic chemistry between the characters will be the points viewers should focus on in our drama.”
“Womance” with Kim Tae Hee is also a point. Kim Tae Hee said, “Lim Ji Yeon played a very pitiful role as a victim of domestic violence. (Lim Ji Yeon) had dark and depressed emotions even on set. Thanks to her, I received a lot of help.” Lim Ji Yeon shared, “Kim Tae Hee was exactly the Moon Joo Ran I imagined while reading the original novel and script. I was able to rely on her by exchanging good synergy effects.” Regarding the chemistry between the two, Lim Ji Yeon explained, “When two women with different colors meet and share, there are moments when they feel a sense of kinship like looking in the mirror. I think you might find that part interesting.”
Through this work, Lim Ji Yeon got to work with Kim Tae Hee after Song Hye Kyo. Therefore, there was a joke among the public that Lim Ji Yeon is a “collector of Tae-Hye-Ji (Kim Tae Hee, Song Hye Kyo, Jun Ji Hyun)”. Regarding this, she smilingly said, “Actually, when I heard that Kim Tae Hee was cast for the role of Joo Ran in ‘Lies Hidden in My Garden’, I thought about that.” She added, “As a junior, I’m happy to be able to act with the seniors I respect. Just jokingly, I want to work with Jun Ji Hyun in the future.”
Finally, Lim Ji Yeon expressed her deep affection for the drama, “Chu Sang Eun of ‘Lies Hidden in My Garden’ was a big challenge for me. I participated in this work with a very loving heart. It’s a work that taught me that this is what it feels like to create a work with one mind and one goal. I hope it’ll become a work that many people love.”
Meanwhile, “Lies Hidden in My Garden” is based on the best-selling novel of the same name. It is a suspense thriller drama where two women, who were living completely different lives, meet and unfold a story due to a mysterious smell coming from the garden. It will be released for the first time at 10 PM on June 19th.
