The Korean music community is mourning the sudden passing of composer Lee Jun-young, known professionally as LeeZu, who died at the age of 42.
The heartbreaking news was shared on May 4 by fellow composer Wang Jung-hyun via social media. In his tribute, he wrote, “My friend, and the composer we all loved from DJMAX, LeeZu, has gone on a long journey alone,” expressing deep sorrow over the loss.

Following the announcement, fans began revisiting LeeZu’s final message, which has since taken on a poignant new meaning. On April 25, he uploaded a video titled “Goodbye” to his YouTube channel, leaving behind a short but emotional note: “Thank you to everyone, and I’m sorry.” The simplicity of the message has left a lasting impact, resonating even more deeply in light of his passing.

LeeZu was widely recognized for his contributions to the rhythm game DJMAX TECHNIKA 2, where he composed memorable tracks such as “The Guilty” and “Burn It Down.” He also showcased his versatility by participating in “Love is Beautiful” as a guitar featuring artist. Over the years, he worked under multiple aliases including DEVA, P. Remi, and P’sycho-Remi, building a diverse and respected musical portfolio.
Even in recent months, LeeZu remained active, sharing both his creative work and daily life through his YouTube channel. His sudden passing has therefore come as a shock to fans and fellow musicians alike, prompting an outpouring of tributes across online communities.
What remains most haunting is the single word he left behind—“Goodbye.”
