Actor Lee Yoo-mi talked about her career in a recent interview
In the latest episode of JTBC’s “Newsroom,” which aired on November 18th, Lee Yoo-mi came as a guest and talked about her latest drama.
To Lee Yoo-mi, who is already in her 15th year since her debut, host Kang Ji-young said, “It is a time that you have grown significantly and has become known to the public. Through “Squid Game,” you became the first Korean actress to win an Emmy Award for “Guest Actress.” At that time, I was so amazed to hear Korean at the award ceremony.”
In response, Lee Yoo-mi said, “I felt so good, I didn’t know if I was walking or standing, I just felt like my head was a little dazed. At home, when I opened the box and saw my name, I got emotional and said to myself, “You worked hard. Good job, good job.” I remember crying alone like this,” she recalled.
Regarding her role in “Strong Woman Gang Nàm-soon,” Lee Yoo-mi shared, “Actually, Nam-soon is a very pure character, so I thought a lot about it. I had to talk to the director a lot and since I had speak informally on screen, I believed that if I did something wrong, people would hate it too much. That’s why I speak casually to match the character’s innocence as much as possible. I think I did well with the director’s help.”
